Exciting news down in Southport!!!

Saturday, March 31st, 2007

Hello everyone!!  Lots of stuff happening down in Southport.  The renovations on our C-wing is coming along very well.  Residents, staff and family members are all happy and excited to see the progress.  Our Mill Hill River Cafe is almost ready to open up!!  It looks great with the furniture and new counter.  Not to mention our very own “ticker” machine which continuously displays headlines in the news and sports.  Donna Burrell, our DNS, is planning a wonderful trip for our residents.  On May 29th eleven of our residents as well as Donna and three other staff members will be going to the Elmsford Theatre in N.Y. for lunch and a play.  They will be seeing the play “Grease”!!!!   The residents are so very excited.  We are also looking forward to the warmer weather to enjoy our wonderful grounds here at Southport.  We truly have a spectacular view of many wildlife.  We have colorful birds, hawks flying over us, deer that come right up to the building and even a family of wild turkeys!!!  In the back of the facility we have a large area of grass where picnic tables, rocking chairs and swing set chairs are available for the enjoyment of our residents, staff and family members.  The residents are all looking forward to our cookouts where everyone is invited to join in the fun.  Well, this is all for now.
