Connecticut Health of Southport is pleased to announce that they have joined the National Nursing Home Quality Initiative to improve patient care and achieve organizational culture change by moving from an institutional environment to a home environment, a place that nurtures the spirit as well as the body. We have prepared a plan of action to guide its collective efforts over the next three years in improving resident and staff satisfaction, reducing staff turnover and improving publicly reported outcomes for pain, pressure ulcers, physical restraint reductions and depression.

Our 120 bed Skilled Nursing facility is surrounded by 17 acres of woodlands and wild life, enhancing healing environment with in. Recently purchased by Connecticut Health Facilities, Harold J. Moffie, founder and CEO, with over 30 years of healthcare operating experience. Connecticut Health of Southport is now renovating the building for the expansion of services including comprehensive sub-acute Short term and Long Term Rehabilitation, wound care, skilled nursing care, recreational activities, on site dietician and nutritional counseling, salon services and social services and community re-intergration.
